1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
"Be the change you wish to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi.
This quote empowers me to take control of my life and to make a positive impact on the world around me. I’ve faced unique challenges and obstacles, but rather than letting those hold me back, this quote encourages me to be proactive and take action towards creating the world I want to live in.
2. What is the strangest thing in your fridge?
One pet peeve of mine is when people use the phrase "that's just how things are", and dismiss the possibility of change. It shows the need for creativity and innovation in finding solutions to problems. When faced with this attitude, I motivate my LegalEEE mentees to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. We all need growth to move forward.
3.What’s something you only do when you’re bored?
As a dually barred attorney and CEO/Founder I use a planner or calendar to schedule all important dates, deadlines, and appointments. I create to-do lists for each day or week to prioritize tasks and stay on track. I’ve also learned to delegate tasks to others when possible to maximize time. It truly takes a village. Teamwork makes the dream work.
4.What is a purchase you made that you immediately regretted?
My favorite way to relax is to take a vacation. I love to travel the world and explore new cultures through food and local tourism. In recent years, my family and I have visited Thailand, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. My parents currently live in Ecuador part-time, so we are definitely an international family that loves to travel!
5.What kind of Barbie would you be?
Being an attorney is my dream job. It allows me to advocate for justice and fight against systemic inequalities that I have experienced firsthand. It also provides me with a platform to effect change in my community while creating generational wealth. Only 2% of partners at law firms are black women. It’s my mission to be a representation of the 2%.
